Last night saw the return of the Super Bowl, one of the biggest sporting events in America’s calendar. For many, though, it is the legendary half time show that defines the annual football game. Past years have seen Madonna perform with a gospel choir and Nicki Minaj and Aerosmith bring out pals like N*Sync and Britney Spears. This year, it was left to our very own Coldplay to bring the noise. And they were met with a mixed reaction. Whilst many enjoyed the performance (us included), some fans took to Twitter to denounce the band, with ‘Coldplay suck’ trending worldwide at one point. Nevertheless, the rousing half time show included hits like Fix You and Adventure of a Lifetime and saw Chris Martin and co welcome Bruno Mars and only bloody Queen B, who took each other on in an Uptown Funk dance off. She also performed her new single, Formation and the pair later joined Martin to sing a medley of their own songs, as well as those from past Super Bowl performers. Just when you thought Uptown Funk was done, Beyoncé makes it a thing again. We’re all ears, B.
