NOW PLAYING: All Saints – One Woman Man

Following up comeback single One Strike, which heralded a slicker, more mature sound from them, the latest offering from All Saints is here.

One Woman Man is a punchy track with a saintly choir backing up lead vocals from Mel Blatt. Their younger contemporaries Little Mix would kill for a tune like this – it manages to retain their laid-back 90s vibe whilst being effortlessly cool and modern. Fresh off announcing a new tour, this only leaves us wanting more from them – which is fine because new album Red Flag is out on April 8.

With lyrics by Shaznay Lewis that more than touch on Nicole Appleton’s recent divorce (she split from husband of 14 years Liam Gallagher in 2014 after he cheated and fathered a child with his assistant) the ladies ask questions like, ‘tell me are you ever gonna be a one woman man?’ and ‘sometimes is it better to let go?’

We’ve got everything crossed that they don’t pull an MKS and dive bomb after a much-hyped comeback. But this is near-perfect pop music and really could be the Saints’ second coming.
