April’s a funny one, isn’t it? It’s not warm, it’s not cold and Easter is out of the way so there’s no chocolate or days off to look forward to (is it too early to start wishing away Spring?!) The Vamps, April 6

They performed here last year to a frenzied crowd, so it’s no surprise The Vamps are back at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena with their Wake Up tour. Along with special guest Conor Maynard, the Can We Dance? singers have sold over 10 million singles since they debuted in 2014.

Patricia Routledge in Conversation with Edward Seckerson, April 9

Best known for legendary TV characters Hyacinth Bucket and Hetty Wainthropp, Patricia Routledge is also a Tony and Olivier award-winning musical theatre actress. In a fascinating encounter with the writer and broadcaster Edward Seckerson, Patricia discusses her life treading the boards. The evening also features rare recordings.

WWE Live WrestleMania Revenge, April 20

Following last year’s successful event, Music Fest TCT is back, all in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. North East talent performing at the Customs House in South Shields includes The Waiters (above), NE Girls and The X Factor’s Abi Garrido and Kerianne Covell. Hosted by BBC Newcastle’s Sue Sweeney.
